Seriously Saturday

I've really fallen off the wagon with my Seriously Saturday's. So here we go....

Zulily is the bomb. Really. I ordered a pair of shoes for my little man a size larger than he is currently wearing. When I received them they were WAY too small. As you know, Zulily doesn't except returns or exchanges so I was basically out the money (they were $7 so it didn't exactly break the bank). I just recently noticed you can review the items you purchase on the Zulily website. So I gave the shoes 1 star and explained the sizing problem, only hoping they clarify the sizing the next time the run that company. The next day I got an email from Zulily apologizing and giving me a $7 credit on my account. The bomb. Seriously.

I had a very successful Georgia trip this week in that I came home with about a dozen mosquito bites and a couple dozen fire ant bites. Seriously, why don't I feel fire ants biting me until I'm swarmed with them?? I spent the entire week itching like a meth addict.

I am way behind on Glee. I've been busy!! I just watched the failed wedding of Will and Emma and I was nearly in tears watching Rachel and Finn sing that old school love song together. Heartbreak.

Did the Patriots seriously keep Tebow?? WTF!!!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE: Tebow has been cut by the Patriots as of this morning. All is right in the world again.

MommiesFirst

$30 per month for either an Expectant Mommies or New Mommies Box. I receive the New Mommies Box and it's mostly stuff for the little man with a little for me. MommiesFirst is based out of Canada but their shipping has always been pretty quick for me. They made some changes to their shipping process this month to make it even quicker in the U.S.

The Box
They mentioned that the new shippers were going to improve upon the problem with beat up boxes but mine didn't seem to fair much better than usual.
The envelope with my name hand written. Very nice touch.
The note inside indicated the theme is "Having Fun With Baby".
The Goods
As always, Mommies First has the best info cards.
1 2 3 Busy Baby $4.99
I am always happy to see books in little man's boxes.
Peek-a-Boo Panda $6.80
I love Melissa and Doug toys and I'm sure my kid will like this.
Munchkin Safety Bath Ducky $3.29
We already have a similar duck and honestly, we don't really use him for his intended purpose. We just stick our hand in the water to test the temp. My kid loves to play with his duckies, though!
My True Nature Lotion and Shampoo/Body Wash
I love bath samples because I'm super picky and like to try them out first. It's all about the smell to me and these smell great. I also love that the info cards give us a coupon for 30% off their website.
Ahava Purifying Mud Mask
I love Ahava products. So excited about this one.
I like the idea of these. I freaked out when I saw the foam handle on my nice stoller had a chunk missing. My only complaint, they are bright pink and orange. Not my style for anything let alone my blue stroller. Anybody get the black ones and wanna trade??

I really dig MommiesFirst. They only cater to kids up to age 1 at this point but I'm hoping they expand soon. It's hard to calculate value when you receive smaller sample sizes but the samples are quite large so I definitely received more merchandise than the $30 I paid. Check them out at MommiesFirst!

Cara Box

This month I decided to sign myself up for the Cara Box exchange. The idea behind this box is to get to know some great women, share your blog a bit, and get a surprise in the mail! How could I go wrong.

I sent a box to Jess at Nutshell Farms. She is a DIY'er with a sweet little Etsy shop you should really check out. You can see her post on what I sent her here.

The wonderful box I received came from Erin at Keep Calm and Sparkle. She describes herself as a fur mom and scentsy whore so I knew I would love her.You should definitely check out her blog and check out all she has going on with a little one on the way. I'm definitely on baby watch and will be stalking her page for photos.

Keep Calm & Sparkle

So here's what it looked like. For some reason the fact that my name was HUGE on the box really made me smile :)
The Goods
Makeup Bag - very cute and very useable. It's going in my purse/diaper bag.
Beverage Cup - I'm thinking alcohlic is the way to go....
Lotion
Bodyspray
Gloss
Sanitizer
All of these of Bath and Body Works.... How did she know I LOVE that place?? Great scent choices, too.
Ghirardelli Chocolate - I love Ghirardelli so much I even sent them to my match.

Erin did I FANTASTIC job on my box. I couldn't be happier. If you are interested in participating in next months Cara Box check back at Wifessionals.

Juniper

juniper

$28 per month for all your time of the month needs plus some yummy treats for when the cravings strike. Let them know Where The Submarine Takes Us sent you and you'll get 50% off your first box! It's only good until the end of August so hurry up! The great thing about Juniper is that you pick your brand, and you can customize things to make it just right for you. I had Lynn switch up the number of Light, Regular, and Supers this month.
The discreet box.
The always hilarious note from CEO Lynn
The Goods
I didn't think you needed more photos of pads and tampons, but that is what you find in the white box and gold baggie along with some Midol.
479 Sea Salt Caramel Popcorn
You really can't go wrong with Popcorn for me.
Golden Earth Neroli Body Wash
This stuff is heavenly! Seriously, I LOVE it.
Numi Teas
I'm not much of a tea drinker, so the hubby will probably end up drinking my period teas :) Not the mint one, though. I love a good mint tea.
Donsuemor Chocolate Madeleines
These didn't last more than an a few hours, let alone to that special time. To be fair, though, I was crazy PMS'ing when I devoured these.
I LOVE honey stix, and yes, I just eat them straight up. Why bother adding them to the tea I don't love?
Nunes Farm Pistachios
Not my favorite but I will still enjoy them. I prefer sweet over salty.

Juniper has quickly become one of my favorite subscriptions. You can even tweet them using #lastbite and they will include more of your favorite in next months box. There are only a couple days left to get your first box for 50% off. All you have to do is email them after you sign up and let them know Where The Submarine Takes Us sent you! Ends Aug 31!

Citrus Lane 6 Month Boy

Citrus Lane is a subscription tailored to the age of your child from infant to age 5. Plans range from $21 -$25 depending on how long you sign up for. Use code TAKEHALF for 50% off your first box.

So here's what we got. Don't pay attention to the crappy lighting in the photos. It was a weird day. Oh, and you should probably know this box is for a 6 month old boy.

The Goods
This is a cute little frog but my little man isn't very interested in him. I really think my kid is too old for it. He likes the hard plastic stackers right now to chew on, throw, or bang into things. I wil say that I found several products I really liked from this company while browing their website.
I'm over getting sanitizing wipes in my boxes. Plus, these are for hands. I'm not gonna carry this big thing around in my diaper bag.
This is a cute board book. We don't have any books that really dive into colors so it's a welcome addition.
Weleda Diaper Care
I rarely use diaper cream on my kid because he just doesn't need it. I did throw this in the suitcase on our last trip and actually used a little bit when I saw a slight red area and it cleared up immediately. Two thumbs up.
I don't have any of these yet so I am excited about it. My only complaint is the pattern. i guess the black and tan make it more boyish but the flowers? Not so much. Oh, well, I'll still use it.

So all told I received a value of $32.73 and I paid $21. Not bad at all. This definitely wasn't my favorite month but I still received some useful things. I'm thinking I may
age up" my kid a couple months by changing his birthday in my account profile. Sign up HERE and don't forget to use the promo code HALFOFF.

NatureBox and Coupon

Last month I had an epic fail and devoured my NatureBox without taking a single picture. My bad. So when it showed up today I tried to contain my excitement long enough to snap a few. The regular sized box contains 5 bags of snacks and is $19.95. I needed more than that so I get the Happy Snacker for 29.95 and it includes 10 bags (2 of each selection). They let you choose your own snacks now so I picked 4 and let them surprise me with the last.

The Box
Nature Box
 First Look

rice cracker
 Far East Rice Crackers
These aren't the spicy variety which is great for me. I don't do spicy. These were my surprise snack and I was very pleased.
nom nom
 Peanut Butter Nom Noms
One of my faves from NatureBox. I just wish there were more in each bag.
 Honey Crunch Crisps
These were awesome. Sweet like I like it.
 Toasted Sesame Sticks
These were pretty salty and not my favorite. I wouldn't order them again.
sunshine chip
 Sunshine Chips
I got these last month and loved them. I will probably order these vegetable chips next month, too.
healthy snack
So this is everything for $29.95. NatureBox is one of my favorite subscriptions and I highly recommend it. You can use the code ADDICTION for 30% off your first box.

The Crowded Tub is a new subscription that sends you bath goodies for the kids. The toys are eco-friendly and non-toxic. The body care products are all natural and organic. Subscriptions are 29.95 per month or a little less if you make a longer commitment.  You can use the code BubbleFun08 for $8 off your first month.

The Box
Apparently all those packing peanuts are biodegradable and will dissolve in the sink. Is it weird that I'm totally excited about this?
The Goods
Info Sheet
Water Bugs
California Baby Shampoo and Body Wash
Bath Time Kids Bubbly Bath
Vermont Soap Oatmeal and Lavender
Organic Washcloth
Bath Salts
The soap sat in my living room for a couple days and made the room smell wonderful! Not sure how it performs as soap.... but as a room freshener it gets two thumbs up. This is a cute idea for a box, and I'm curious to see next months box.
