July Wrap Up

July is coming to an end! We had a very fun month full of firsts. Little Man turned 5 months! I can't believe the changes he's made in the past month. He's growing like a weed. He can sit on his own now and he sprouted a couple teeth on our first day in Canada!

Speaking of which, we had a fantastic week in Niagara Falls. It was my first trip to Canada and my first road trip across Northern NY. If you haven't been to the falls, GO! They were beautiful and there is so much more to do there. We visited forts, went wine tasting at several vineyards, and hiked along the river.
Niagara Falls

My MIL came to stay with us for a week or so to recover from brain surgery. She's doing fantastic and I am happy Little Man got to spend some time with her. My FIL headed out to Oregon where they are house hunting which is awesome because for those of you who don't know that's where I call home!

Now for the not so pleasant stuff. I survived my root canal. Actually, it went quite well and I am sooo happy to be out of pain. I also found a new dentist who is way better than the one who messed me up to start with. She serves the best cookies in her waiting room. How awesome is that?

We failed to close the garage door one night and someone got into my car and stole my camera and my GPS. They were both super old so it's no big loss, but I'm really creeped out that someone was prowling around my garage while we were home! We live in a really nice neighorhood where the houses are very spread out and we are kinda in the middle of no where. Who the hell was it?? In totally unrelated bad news, someone managed to use my credit card to go on a shopping spree at Burberry and Apple.
Buttonwood Farm
Back to the happy things, we took Little Man to his first farm! He went on a hayride and got to see all the animals. I think he was more interested in the hay, however.
I'm wrapping up breastfeeding and I cannot be happier about it. I lasted way longer than I thought I would. I absolutely hated every second of it! We've got another vacation coming up and I'm thrilled to not have to bother pumping or whatever. I'm done!
We received our verbal orders for our move in a few months. It's not in writing so I'm not sharing just yet. All I can say is O...M...G!

See you next month!

Blush - July

$24.95 with a monthly subscription
Let me know if you are interested in trying it and I can get you a $10 gift card.

The box:
Everything came in this cute sack:
The Goods:
My Mystery Gift and free sample. A concealer brush which will come in handy and eye cream.
This is a buildable hairspray, meaning one squirt for a light hold or several squirts for a firmer hold. I'm not sure how this differs from any other hairspray but I can definitely use it.
$16.70
This is made with Arctic Cloudberry, and whatever that is it sounds cool. It also a very pleasant smell.
$8.23
This pack comes with 10 towelettes. It goes on clear, not like you are actually painting it on your face. I didn't notice anything drastic, which is a good thing. I don't want to suddenly look like an Oompa-Loompa.
$15.27
(it's not been on my face for about 20 minutes and I'm experiencing tingling/itchiness. I do not have sensitive skin so this is concerning)
This is a pretty purply color with color flecks.
$18
This one has SPF 15 in it, so I'll try it out. I hate having to use multiple products and I prefer the all-in-ones.
$24.95
BioElements Quick Refiner
An alpha-hydroxy acid resurfacer. I used it, didn't really see a difference.
This might be my favorite item in the box. It's a good color for me, plus it's fairly sheer.
$15.86
So it comes out to about $99 when I use Amazon prices. I noticed that the prices on the Blush website are considerably higher. I definitely got a good value for the subscription price, but I wouldn't say I'm wowed by anything in the box. Not sure if I will continue this one. Again, let me know if you would like a $10 gift card, I can email it to you.

The Little Book Club - July

$24.95 per Month

I absolutely love The Little Book Club. Your little one gets a selection of books each month catered to his age and development.

The Box:
This months theme is On The Farm. Coincidentally, this package arrived on the day we took B to his first farm (more to come on this). Little man is now 5 months old. We did not get the book in the middle of this card. We received something different. The Little Book Club was victim to a large theft this month and I'm wondering if that's why we received the alternate. Seriously, it's gotta be super bad karma to steal childrens' books.
Christopher Santoro
$3.49
Miller, JP, and Diane Muldrow
$3.59
Margaret Wise Brown
$21.73
I used Amazon prices for the value of the books. I definitely got my money worth this month and once again the books are a total success with my baby boy. I can't say enough about The Little Book Club. I'm already looking forward to next month.

KlutchClub - Best Of

The Best of KlutchClub
$18 per month

I really enjoyed the unpacking of this box. Very cute.

Here are the goods. I can't say I was overly impressed with anything in this box. To me it was just a bunch of random crap.

There are always coupons available for Klutch and I got this one for free. That's a good thing because I'm not impressed at all. I have heard great things from other people, though. Maybe there regular monthly boxes are better? Anyone get Klutch and love it?

Seriously Saturday

Here's what's making me say Seriously!

I totally forgot to take pics and review this months NatureBox. I just devoured it immediately! Let's just say it was good.

We (and when I say "we" I mean my husband) forgot to close the garage door the other night and some loser got into my car and stole my camera and my GPS. While we were all inside the house!! Grrrr....

My father-in-law is back...... again.

Did anyone seriously watch the entire plea deal with Ariel Castro? The judge read all 900+ charges! I think I listened to 3. I'm so glad those ladies don't have to go to trial.

I have made very little progress on my post about our Niagara Falls trip.... and my next trip is coming up. I really need to get on it.

What's on your mind this week?
